About This Site

This website was designed and developed from scratch by MH Photography LLC. The intent is to have a simple site that is easy to navigate and highly accessable, yet still provide the type of functinality that is common to many photography websites. All of the styling on the site is done with Cascading Style Sheets(CSS.) The techniques used on this site are based on articles and tutorials from CommunityMX and A List Apart.

The slideshow on the homepage uses monoslideshow, a flash based slideshow system. The portfolio galleries use a javascript tool, highslide.js. It provides the ajax thumbnail photo gallery capabilities. The thumbnails are generated on the fly (this was an important design element) with phpThumb, a server based open source thumbnail generation tool. This site runs on a dedicated server managed by MH Photography LLC located in a California datacenter managed by cari.net.
